Vasaskeppet

Embark on the royal regal ship Vasa, which became a symbol of Sweden's and Gustav II Adolf's great power in the early 1600s.

Details

Welcome to the grand Vasa room that was created with inspiration from the only Swedish ship at Havshotellet. The regal ship Vasa was built as a symbol of Sweden's and Gustav II Adolf's military and political power. On Sunday, August 10, 1628, she edged outside Beckholmen in Stockholm's inlet on her maiden voyage and then sank to the bottom. After a few unsuccessful attempts to salvage her, Vasa was almost forgotten and lifted above the water surface only in 1961. She can be seen at a museum in Stockholm where they work to preserve this historic ship for generations to come.
